Scott Von Doviak writes about pop culture for The A.V. Club, Slant, and Rocker Magazine, among others. He is the author of Hick Flicks: The Rise and Fall of Redneck Cinema (McFarland & Co.), the rollicking, definitive history of hixploitation cinema, as well as If You Like The Terminator and the forthcoming Stephen King on Film FAQ, both from Hal Leonard Books. He is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, and now lives in Austin, TX with his spirit animal Maury the Wonder Chibeagle.
